EARTH PAINTING WORKSHOP
Introduction
It’s worth remembering that painting has its roots in ancient practices, beginning with the gathering of rocks to grind into pigment. Cave drawings survive from a time when every person was, in a sense, a poet. Whether these images served as records or as decoration, each mark carried the unique expression of its maker. I see this as a language of spiritual belonging — a reflection of our harmony with the natural world.
Description
LA-based artist Meg Jorgenson will lead a 2-hour interactive class, sharing her approach to abstract impressionism through the use of foraged earth pigments. Nature itself will serve as our guide and inspiration.
