Daughter of an Italian immigrant and a mother of Franco-American children, her recent work explores belonging, family ties, and how life plays out in the process of adaptation and existing in foreign lands as an expatriate. In the vast openness of migration how does one find their place? Living with a feeling of being between two places, the place where one’s physical body lives and the other being where one feels belonging. Her current body of work explores the concept of being held while hanging out in the in-between where the abstract forms of possibility take shape to create one’s reality in foreign lands.

Christina Ross lived in Venice, CA for many years, and is happy to return to Southern California for her show at Artemis Studio LA.

Christina’s pieces are made from unglazed chamotte clay originating from France, Germany and Spain, string,  wire and wood.
